Šumava Biosphere Reserve

The Šumava Biosphere Reserve is a large-scale nature reserve in the southwest of the Czech Republic.

It includes the largest national park in the Czech Republic (68.064 hectare), the national park Šumava and the 99.624 hectare conservation area Šumava. Together they form one of the largest and most species-rich conservation areas in Central Europe. They provide both a valuable natural area, as well as a popular destination for tourism.
